Mage macros - Patch 6.0.3

Here you'll be able to find useful and interesting macros for Mages in patch 6.0.3.
The macros are separated in categories , so it'll be easier to find a macro for your spec.

General Mage Macros:
Counterspell macro:
#showtooltip
/cast [@focus,exists][@target] Counterspell

This macro casts Counterspell Icon Counterspell at your focus, if you have one. Otherwise, Counterspell is cast at your current target.

Spellsteal macro:
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast [@focus,exists][@target] Spellsteal

This macro for Spellsteal Icon Spellsteal works in the same way as the above macro for Counterspell Icon Counterspell.

Blink macro:
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cast Blink

This macro will cancel your current spell cast and make you blink away. This saves you the trouble (and the time!) of interrupting your spell cast manually.

Ice Block macro:
#showtooltip
/stopcasting
/cancelaura Ice Block
/cast Ice Block

This macro will cast Ice Block Icon Ice Block. Using the macro again will cancel the spell.

Slow Fall macro:
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,nodead,help][nodead,help][@player] Slow Fall

This macro for Slow Fall Icon Slow Fall is very useful. If you are hovering over a party member (be it on the raid frames or on their actual character) it will cast Slow Fall on them. Otherwise, it casts it on your target, if it is friendly. If your target is not a friendly party member, then the macro casts Slow Fall on you.

Remove Curse macro:
#showtooltip
/cast [@mouseover,nodead,help][nodead,help][@player] Remove Curse

This macro for Remove Curse Icon Remove Curse works exactly in the same way as the above macro for Slow Fall Icon Slow Fall.

Polymorph macro:
#showtooltip Polymorph
/clearfocus [modifier:alt]
/focus [@focus,noexists]
/cast [@focus,exists][@target,exists] Polymorph
/y Casting Polymorph on %F

This macro casts Polymorph Icon Polymorph on your focus or your current target. The first time you use this macro, the focus is set on your current target (if it is an enemy). Subsequent uses of the macro will keep casting Polymorph on your focus, unless you press alt (or whatever modifier you specify in the second line of the macro), in which case, the macro will set the focus on your current target before casting Polymorph on it.

Fire mage macros:

Combustion
#showtooltip
Combustion
/stopcasting
/cast Combustion

After you get a Pyroblast Crit, you should hit this Macro to casts your Combustion ASAP. Great Macro if you don’t wanna lose dps from a bad Ignite.

  Scorch
#showtooltip
Scorch
/stopcasting
/cast Scorch

This will automatically stop your Scorch from spellcasting, which is great if your moving.

Frost mage macros:

Water Elemental: Freeze macro:
#showtooltip
/cast Freeze

This macro will let you put the Freeze Icon Freeze ability of your Water Elemental on your cast bar.

#showtooltip
/cast Frostbolt
/cast Freeze

Using a macro such as the one above will enable you to automatically make use of Freeze Icon Freeze whenever it comes off cooldown. Remember that Frostbolt Icon Frostbolt does not consume the charges of Fingers of Frost Icon Fingers of Frost that Freeze generates. Also, making your Water Elemental cast Freeze while you are casting Frostbolt will have no incidence on your cast of Frostbolt.

Water Elemental: Water jet macro:
#showtooltip
/cast Water Jet

This macro will let you put the Water Jet Icon Water Jet ability of your Water Elemental on your cast bar.

Arcane mage macros:
Arcane Missiles
#showtooltip
/cast [nochanneling] Arcane Missiles

Place this on your action bar, and it allows you to continuously hit Arcane Missiles without worrying about cancelling the current one.

Arcane Blast
#showtooltip
/cast [nochanneling] Arcane Blast

Same exact macro as the one above. You can spam Arcane Blast without worrying about it cancelling.
